This is me in my blonde era.

Hi, I’m Chelsea!

I'm a visual artist and educator currently living in New York City with my husband, son and two cats.

I started my fine art and illustration business, Chelsea Vaught Art (now known as Chelsea Makes Art), from my home in Seattle, WA in 2017. My work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Seattle and sold in monthly art fairs, gift shops and pop-up markets. I also operated a successful Etsy shop with thousands of sales and consistent five-star reviews.

My art blends activism with my love for plants, animals and nature. I work in a wide range of media and art-styles, from digital paintings to watercolor to block printing. I’m always switching up the way I work and learning new things.

I received a BFA in Art Education from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008 and studied at Goldsmiths University of London with a concentration in printmaking and photography. I have also taken courses at the School of the Art Institute Chicago and Central Saint Martins UAL.

In my free time I like to spend time with my family, try to keep my houseplants alive and explore the city.
